We envision a community where everyone has access to nutritious, good quality food, understands the consequences of hunger, and poor nutrition, the effects of poverty, and is committed to creating healthier, stronger Pulaski County.
Empowering communities through sustainable food initiatives, Cooks That Care leverages catering services to combat food insecurity and create lasting impact for those in need.
Shockingly, nearly 50 million people in the U.S are food insecure, with 65,100 people affected in Pulaski County alone. We are number one in the nation.
Arkansas has a total of 506,600 individuals affected.
We're attacking hunger with a three-pronged fork! First, we're serving up extra nutrition by providing food rescue programs and feeding initiatives. Secondly, we're dishing out educational opportunities to help folks grow personally and get job ready. And lastly, we're tackling unemployment with a catering service that helps put food on the table and reduce food insecurity for some of our most vulnerable citizens.
Imagine a day in Little Rock where hunger is not an option! That's the vision of "No Hunger in the City," an event aimed at raising awareness about hunger and dishing out 5,000 meals in a single day.
